Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication for Your School Email with Microsoft Authenticator

About Microsoft Authenticator - Microsoft Support

To access your student email, you will need to have the Microsoft Authenticator app downloaded onto your phone (preferred) or tablet.

Microsoft Authenticator helps protect your school account with two-factor authentication. Follow these simple steps to install and configure the app:

 

 

 

  1. After logging into the rock and changing your temporary password, find the Email tile.

(If you don’t know your student email yet, you can click “what is my school email address?”)

 

  1. Enter your email then click Next

  1. Enter the same password you used to sign into the ROCK with your S#.

  1. Pause here on the computer and open your phone to download the MFA (Microsoft Authenticator) app if you haven't already.

  1. Once app is downloaded you need to add your school account. Click the + sign in the upper right-hand corner, then choose work or school account. Click scan QR code, switch back to your computer screen to scan the QR code.

  1. Choose scan QR code

  1. Go back to your computer screen to pick back up with the QR code on your screen

 

  1. Now you will be prompted through a series of practice authentications by entering the number into your phone.

  1. Now just click finish on your computer screen until you are directed on to your email.
